German WW2 'Vigsø' Bunkers

The bunkers at Vigsø, located on Denmark’s northern coast, were built during World War II as part of the German Atlantic Wall. They were used for various purposes, such as housing artillery, observation, and providing shelter for soldiers.

Today, the bunkers are scattered along the beach, some partially buried in sand or tilted from years of erosion. Many are still intact, and visitors can explore them to see features like steel doors, concrete walls, and even some graffiti left from the war.

The site offers a chance to learn about the history of the area and how these structures were part of Germany’s coastal defenses. It’s a simple and quiet reminder of the war, set against the natural backdrop of the North Sea.
